Venue: Copper Box Arena
Come down to the Copper Box Arena and bang the drum for street children’s rights!
The Copper Box Arena will host Bang the Drum 2016, which is a new Festival that will unite London school children and thousands of other young drummers across the UK and the globe.
The Festival will include world record attempts for the World’s Largest Drum Lesson, World’s Largest Virtual Drumming Ensemble and the Most Amount of People Wearing Hearing Protection At The Same Time. The Festival will also include performances from Inspire-works facilitators Royal College of Music Percussion Department, the Young Drummer of the Year, the Beatbox Collective and presentations from Street Child United.
The drummers will be performing a unique piece of music that will be developed during the Street Child Games ahead of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this coming March by local community drummers and 80 street children. The 80 street children who created the music will also be participating in the world record attempt.
