Year 2 RSPB Visit
Today Year 2 were very lucky to have a visit from Jo from the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds). She taught us about what the RSPB do and then helped us learn about different habitats and the different animals and creatures that live in them.
Next, we went out into our wildlife area with a map of our school and used colour coded stickers and an identification chart of different habitats to record which habitats we could find. We were really excited to find a huge range! Bird houses, compost bins, dead wood, insect hotels, young trees and many others! We found lots of woodlice and worms sleeping in these habitats, even a centipede!
Jo has given us some great ideas about how we can improve our wildlife area even more and we are really excited to start doing this!
