Year 2 Stem Week Day 3 in Kinglet Class
Day three of STEM week in Kinglet class got off to a great start when we arrived in school to be greeted by a new baby chick that had hatched during the night. We knew that he was a boy because he was yellow and Hassan decided that he should be called Chicky!
Next we enjoyed getting messy with paint whilst creating our own models of the Arc De Triomphe with Ms Zanon during our French Lesson. We were amazed when she told us that the Arc De Triomphe is so big that a small plane could fly through the middle!!
After French we were given the task of designing and making a car to race our eggs from Monday in. Some of the us came up with fantastic ways to move our cars. Ryan designed his own axel for the wheels on his car and Arwen and Tilly created a fantastic car with a bunny design that could be pulled along by strings!!
In the afternoon we were lucky enough to watch one of the hatch out of its egg. We found it very cute that Chicky was trying to help his brother (another boy) hatch! Arwen and Napsugar named him Bubblegum!
After playtime we all took our cars onto the playground to race our eggs (this time with nothing but the car for protection!!) Sadly only 3 eggs survived. Katia was crowned the winner when her car made it 4.2 metres with one push and not cracking her egg, which she dropped a few moments later whilst doing a celebratory dance!!
