Welcome to our class page! Goose class are taught by Ms. Watkin and Tahira .
Welcome back Goose! And what a different start to 2021 we have ahead of us. I hope all of you are staying safe at home and feel ready for the exciting challenge of online learning! I'm looking forward to us all learning new skills using technology this term :) .
Each week I or Mrs. Nichols will be teaching live lessons for you to join using your Microsoft 'Teams' log-in. Lessons are :Maths 10am, Literacy 12pm and General (including, Science/Art/Topic) at 2pm.
When you log into teams - you will see the lessons in your calendar ready for you to join.
If you have any questions please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Don't forget to send me your brilliant work so that I can share it with the rest of the class. We will still be giving out weekly rewards and house points too! I look forward to seeing all of you all soon!
Below are some more things that you can be using while at home. All the children have a reading record, and their log-in details for each website we use can be found in there.
Children should be reading and recording in their Reading Record each day. Children should read their book several times before they do an AR (Accelerated Reading) tests online.
At home, each child can use their AR login to access the myON website which has many books for all ages, about lots of different topics. The children are set projects for each term based on their current topics, so we'd like them to take a look at those too.
After reading these books (at least twice), they can then click on the orange button and complete an AR test. They should be able to do this independently.
TTRockstars helps children to practise their multiplication and division facts. It is best to start with Garage games as this gives times tables that are suitable and that we are learning in class. Studio games give them a 'rock speed' for questions on all of the times tables.
Children can use their TTRockstars password to access Numbots too. Numbots helps children to practise their number facts. It starts easy and progressively gets harder.
Each week the children are given 10 spellings to learn and practice at home. They are tested every Friday. We learn a new 'join' formation every week too so it's great to get that extra practice in!
It's super important to stay active, especially when you're at home, so try using sites such as GoNoodle, Super Movers, and change4life to find activities - or you could try 'P.E with Joe Wicks' on youtube on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's at 9am.
There's lots to explore on the music website Charanga, where the class have been set projects or can learn about the different aspects of music they are interested in.
